It is with great sorrow that the Schroon Lake Association announces the passing of Herman Simon at age 97 on August 28th.   

We have lost a great friend, supporter and former President.

 

The New York Times obituary of September 2 reads in part as follows:

 

"A joyous, authentic Renaissance man, Herman was passionate about politics, great books, great art, great music...and the Yankees.  As curious about people as about ideas and a tireless listener, he made you feel you were the most interesting person in the world."

 

"A President of the Schroon Lake Association for 11 years, Herman was devoted to keeping the lake pure for future generations." 

 

"Contributions in his memory will be welcomed by the Schroon Lake Association or the Seagle Music Colony."
